t’s been just a week since Samsung introduced its latest flagship smartphone,Galaxy Note 8 but that hasn’t stopped the company from working on its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S9.
According to a report by Xda-developers, the device will run Android 8.0 Oreo, likely with a new version of the Samsung Experience UI. The handset will be powered by Snapdragon 845 as Samsung will be securing the first batch of the upcoming chipset. The report also said that the “the fingerprint sensor will be in a centered rectangular cutout.” The Galaxy S9 is said to retain the Infinity display of its predecessor Galaxy S8 — QHD+ display at 1440×2960 with its 18.5:9 ratio. For storage, the S9 will offer 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. As for the cameras, the report did not state anything clearly.
Samsung launched its Galaxy Note 8 phablet recently and said it will begin pre-orders for the device for US, UK and Canada customers starting September 15.
Running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 sports a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ (2960×1440 pixels) Super Amoled ‘Infinity’ display with 521ppi. The handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, clubbed with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM.The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be available in three variants based on the inbuilt storage – 64GB/128GB and 256GB.
The optics department comprises of a dual rear camera setup. The setup includes two 12MP sensors. While the first one is a wide angled lens with f/1.7 aperture, the secondary camera includes a telephoto zoom lens with f/2.4 aperture. At the front, there is an 8MP f/1.7 aperture shooter. Samsung also says that both the rear cameras come with OIS or Optical Image Stabilizer.There is a Dual Capture mode as well wherein both rear cameras take two pictures simultaneously. Users can save keep both images: One close-up shot from the telephoto lens and one wide-angle shot that shows the entire background.Backed by a 3300mAh battery, the Galaxy Note 8 supports wireless fast charging tech. Some of the connectivity options include Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, GPS and Wi-Fi.
