Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 leaked prototype shows off bezel-less screen and dual cameras

The Redmi Note 5, successor to the massively popular Redmi Note 4, has been spotted in the wild. Xiaomi may be looking to bring bezel-less screens to the masses with its next Redmi phone. Note that Xiaomi already has the Mi Mix and the Mix 2 phones to its name.

The Mi Mix and the Mix 2 are however mid-range flagships. While Xiaomi’s Redmi range is known for their affordability aspect. Which means should the Redmi Note 5 get a bezel-less screen. It would make it the cheapest Xiaomi phone to ship with such a feature. Rumour has it that the alleged Redmi Note 5 will come with a 5.5-inch near bezel-less screen. With an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio. Something that would make the phone taller rather than wider. This would make the phone occupy a much smaller footprint when in the hands. A trend also seen in Xiaomi’s Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2 .

Additionally, the alleged Redmi Note 5 will come with a dual camera system on the rear consisting of one 16-megapixel camera and another 5-megapixel camera. It is yet to be seen what functionality the dual camera system would bring to the table with regards to Xiaomi’s upcoming phone.
